ANNA DMOWSKA
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, 2010. department of painting.
Diploma in the studio of Prof. A.Wsiolkowski.
The leading theme of my work is nature in the broadest sense - the animal world
and plants. I paint from imagination, based on motifs that exist in nature. The motif, as such, is for me a starting point, a pretext for the creative process and for consideration. In my paintings I pay attention to the interaction of individual color patches. Also important is the color itself, shape, composition and texture. Thanks to the use of various textures, structures, techniques and materials, my paintings can be described as "dense and fleshy", at times even slightly three-dimensional. I transpose reality, I do not reproduce it faithfully. This accounts for the fact that my paintings are not only figurative, but also abstract. Thus, categorizing the style of my works can refer to both figurative and abstract art. My works realize both at the same time. Many of my works constitute thematic cycles. However, I treat each of my paintings extremely individually, I see, as an independent unit. Even the smallest detail in my works is important, because it is presented in a conscious manner, the result of intense thought. I have been doing easel painting for many years. I paint paintings in oil and acrylic techniques. Sometimes I combine both techniques. I also do freehand drawing, collage and raster computer graphics. In all these techniques of visual expression I try to maintain stylistic consistency. The stylistics of my work is close to surrealism. You can find in it elements of illustration and fairy tales. All the above-described factors make up the whole of my artwork, which has a unique character and is recognizable
