Saturday's „Pumpkin Day” wasn't lucky with the weather - but it was full of hot competition excitement.

The competition for the heaviest pumpkin was the culmination of a day full of animations (Eco-Fun and Body Art Theater), lectures, walks and workshops. Everything revolved around the main character of this rainy day - the pumpkin.

And so - the outdoor, rainy Pumpkin Collection Walk was, as usual, a solid dose of interesting facts about the vegetable collection. „Pumpkin Day” with a tracker introduced us to the world of „bush” animals in the Garden.

Professor Gregory Bartoszewski's lecture solidified our knowledge of the world of pumpkins. The workshop Tastes of Autumn - culinary games stimulated our appetite and expanded our kitchen talents.

Taking place in the Orangery, the movement workshop „From seed to pumpkin” allowed us to organize our emotions and gymnastize our bodies. Planetarium „Orbitek” transported viewers to the world of 4K nature, and Pumpkin Tales - florist workshops awakened a passion for floral compositions.

The highlight of the day, however, was the pumpkin weighing contest. Ten pumpkins in the „Adult” category and seven pumpkins in the „Children's” category competed. Here are the winners of the contest:

ADULT:

  1. Pumpkin „Klementyna” (546 kg) - 1st prize 4500 PLN gross.
  2. Pumpkin „Sonia” (543 kg) - second prize 3400 PLN gross.
  3. Pumpkin „Jola”(484 kg) - third prize 2300 PLN gross
  4. Pumpkin „Lili” (444.5 kg) - IV prize 1600 PLN gross.
  5. Pumpkin „Hilda” (389.5 kg) - 5th prize of 1100 PLN gross.
  6. Pumpkin „Bruno” (291.5 kg) - honorable mention 800 gross PLN
  7. Pumpkin „Monika” (250.5 kg) - honorable mention 600 PLN gross
  8. Pumpkin „Eko Jaga” (111 kg) - honorable mention 300 gross zlotys
  9. Pumpkin „Eko Baba Jadzia” (76 kg).
  10. Pumpkin „Goliath's granddaughter” (44 kg).

CHILDREN:

  1. Pumpkin „Berry” (65 kg).
