On September 16, Prof. Arkadiusz Nowak took part in the 17. EDGG (Eurasian Dry Grassland Group) conference entitled. "Grassland dynamics and conservation in a changing world" In Tolosa, in the Basque Country.

Professor Arkadiusz Nowak delivered a commissioned paper, "The diversity of open habitats occurring in Tajikistan with some remarks to their conservation status and perspectives," which was met with great interest and resonance among conference participants.

Together with Dr. Sylwia Nowak, he presented the results of classifying the grassland vegetation of the Opole area using classical and molecular methods. This work was prepared in the Powsinski research team with significant participation of Dr. Anna Rucińska and Dr. Sebastian Swierszcz. The conclusions of the research were described by the session leader as "shocking" to everyone. They change the perception of vegetation typology and most other botanical studies in a fundamental way, showing that using standard observational methods we see only about 75% of the entire vegetation diversity.
