Does the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden in Powsin fall asleep after sunset? Quite the opposite—at night, it reveals a different side of itself.
Join us for „A Night in the Garden,” where you can discover the Garden by night, listen to the sounds of nature, and gaze at the starry sky far from the hustle and bustle of the city, and perhaps even admire the Perseids.

📅 August 12–15
🕘 Event times: 8:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
🎟️ Admission to the event is included with a ticket to the Garden. Tickets can be purchased at the box office until 7:30 p.m.; after that, tickets are available only online.

During the event, you can choose how you’d like to spend the evening—join a guided walk with an educator or simply stroll through the Garden on your own and visit the night sky observation area. It’s a good idea to plan your visit a little in advance, though—that way, you can first explore the Garden in broad daylight and then watch how it changes after sunset.

🌙🚶An Evening Walk with an Educator
From August 12–15, a guided walk led by an educator will depart daily at 9:00 p.m. from the patio by the main entrance. In a small group of up to 25 people, participants will explore the Garden after dark, learn how its character changes at night, and discover what skills are needed to navigate nighttime forests, meadows, and wilderness on their own.
The walk will last about 2 hours and will end at the night sky observation area.
The walk takes place in natural light, without flashlights. Children may participate only when accompanied by an adult guardian.
📧 Advance registration is required for the walk at: warsztaty@ob.pan.pl

⭐🔭Independent exploration and observation of the sky
You don’t have to take part in the walk to attend the event. Until 11:30 p.m., you can stroll on your own, exploring the Garden’s evening atmosphere, and then visit the designated area for stargazing.
Deck chairs and picnic blankets will be available for participants, inviting them to relax and admire the starry sky. An educator on site will talk about the most interesting objects visible in the sky and explain the basics of astronomical observation.
If weather conditions are favorable, you’ll be able to observe the Perseid meteor shower—one of the most spectacular astronomical events of the summer.

🌙☕An Evening at Botanica Cafe & Bistro
Botanica Cafe & Bistro will also be open until 10:00 p.m. and will feature a special menu inspired by the night sky for the duration of the event. This is the perfect opportunity to take a break during an evening stroll or stargazing session and enjoy the cafe’s seasonal offerings. The menu will feature, among other things, refreshing drinks with a celestial twist and sweet treats with astronomy-themed designs—including star-shaped cupcakes and cookies.
