We invite you to the next event in the „Literacka Rabatka” series, during which we’ll discuss Cynthia Barnett’s book *Rain*. In it, the American journalist explores the fascinating world of rain—one of the most important natural phenomena, without which life on Earth would not be possible.
Rain is much more than just drops falling from the sky. It is the history of our planet, the source of life, and a topic that takes on special significance in the face of climate change. The author sheds light on the mysteries of precipitation, surprises readers with fascinating historical facts, and encourages reflection on the future of water resources. For while in some parts of the world there is more and more rain, in others it is becoming an increasingly rare occurrence. What role do plants play in all of this, and why is it so important to retain moisture in the environment?
During the meeting, we’ll take a look at rain from a literary, natural, and somewhat surprising perspective. We’ll also talk about how important water is to the world around us.
We also have a little task for the participants!
Please bring a photo related to rain to the meeting. It can show raindrops on leaves, a wet garden, a walk in the rain, a loved one, or a four-legged friend in the pouring rain. Photos with an unusual or creative take on the theme are also welcome. We’ll award a small gift to the most interesting photo!
We invite you to join us in discovering just how many stories are hidden in an ordinary rainstorm.
