A representation of the Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences took part in the opening picnic of Warsaw in Flowers last weekend.
In the S. Żeromski Park in Warsaw's Żoliborz district, we had our "flowery" stand, and plenty of attractions - contests, games, botanical puzzles and animations for the youngest. There were also questions from visitors, who received a solid dose of knowledge from our education department. And so - children were able to cut crepe paper flowers, play wheel of fortune, or answer seemingly simple questions like "is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable". Adults, for their part, recognized the scents of herbs and put together botanical puzzles. No one left without a prize!
For the guests of the garden picnic we also prepared quite a treat - on the stage you could try your hand at the Washingtonia palm leaf fanning contest. There was a lot of effort and laughter at the same time, because the weight of such a leaf only seems small on the surface!
The picnic was a great inspiration to create your own blooming garden and prepare to participate in the "Contest for the most beautiful balconies and gardens" with entries from May 15 to June 30, 2025. Details of the contest at the link: http://warszawawkwiatach.pl
Thank you for being with us!
