Who is behind these extraordinary roses?<\/div>\n
The Meilland family has been breeding roses since the 19th century. It was Francis Meilland who created the legendary PEACE rose (Madame A. Meilland), which became a global symbol of peace after World War II and brought worldwide fame to the family. Since then, generation after generation has continued the legacy, and today, the sixth generation is actively involved in rose breeding.<\/div>\n

At their research center in Le Cannet des Maures, thousands of new crosses are created every year - with up to 30,000 flowers hand-pollinated, producing around 200,000 seedlings. Only a few of these make it through rigorous selection and into international trials in various climates and countries. Developing a new rose variety takes 8-10 years for garden roses and 4-6 years for cut flowers. In the end, only a handful of the very best are released to the market - winning prestigious awards and being sold in over 60 countries.<\/div>\n

At the Warsaw competition, the awards on behalf of Meilland were accepted by Miccoli Thibault, Deputy Director of the famous Parc de Bagatelle in Paris - a world-renowned site for its exceptional rose collection and home to the oldest and most prestigious international rose competition. <\/div>\n
