The traditional view of their kingdom, however, has changed profoundly over time. Some of the main people responsible for this phenomenon were ancient scholars and scientists, whose influence on the approach to mushroom harvesting can still be observed today. Their confrontation with traditional knowledge about mycobiota may be the reason for the current division between mycophilic and mycophilic communities.<\/p>\n
The purpose of this article is to present the above changes from the perspective of the Polish population, which is now considered highly mycophilic. The apparent change in the scientific world's approach to fungi and the acceptance of the folk view of fungi took place no earlier than the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The long history of scientific aversion to the fungal kingdom has resulted in the fact that there is still relatively little knowledge about edible mushroom species. Recent research clearly indicates that, with the right approach, mushrooms are capable of providing us with many, possibly as yet unknown benefits.<\/p>\n
Marcin Andrzej Kotowski - History of mushroom consumption and its impact on traditional view on mycobiota - an example from Poland.
