Samples of the vascular cambium and associated tissues were taken for analysis from the southern (exposed) and northern (shaded) sides of tree trunks growing in the interior of the tree canopy and in its peripheral zone. The results of the study indicate that an increase in trunk temperature (caused by direct exposure to solar radiation) can be considered as a factor affecting the radial growth of R. pseudoacacia before full leaf development.
